Hi, all!
After a long journey, I’m finally wrapping up my last revision for my recent novel! The seed for this one was planted in 2014, but life took me on a scenic route (as it often does!) while I went back to school to finish my undergraduate degree.
I did not return to the draft until 2023, and quickly wrapped up the first draft between late February and early April. I took another detour (to work on my MBA), which pushed my revisions out to late 2024.
Don’t get me wrong–I’m grateful for the side quests I meandered on! I ended up learning a ton in conferences, workshops, and some books on writing suggested by authors I got to meet along the way. Taking the extra time for another revision to incorporate all I learned was absolutely worth it–and I am far more satisfied with this manuscript because of it!
My goal was to finish by March 8th, 2025, as that’s a week before the next Atlanta Writing Workshop.
I’m over a month ahead of schedule–which may never happen again!
I guess instead… I’ll start working on the next one 🤣
My brain mushed to oatmeal wrapping up the query letter and synopsis tonight, so I’ll have to share more later.
Have a great night!
Mischa
