Do you believe in fate/destiny?
Sort of?
I’ve been a professional level astrologer for over 20 years.
(Not three ambiguous lines in a newspaper column, but detailed study that examines how current events affect you, how we affect each other, and how we mature and progress through life. It takes DAYS for me to do what I consider a complete reading.)
Here’s what I’ve seen:
Certain events throughout life, we all get. (Like a midlife crisis.) Certain lessons and choices only a handful experience.
The marker for the lesson or choice is absolutely baked into a natal chart, because you will be triggered into a lesson as the planets rove the sky.
However… HOW that lesson shows up and what you do with it is entirely free will.
Fate or Destiny lines up the crossroads you will face. But it is your personal choices, throughout every breath of your life, that determines what form and location that crossroads shows up as… as well as how you handle the next one.
Someone actively choosing positive beneficial options has a completely different experience than someone choosing negative ones.
I’ve seen hundreds of charts that describe the same crossroads… and no two responses are similar. No one has an identical outcome.
This is what obsesses those of us who study it deeply for years. The fact that you can see the crossroads of a person’s life path… you can give multiple guesses as to what it might entail to help them prepare, but it still will develop in its own unique way.
The transits support the concept of fate or destiny. But it’s not that simple. We all still have the option to select one of several actions for each—and also the option to do absolutely nothing and waste the opportunity entirely.
