I’m so glad I’m trying this idea out! I’ve always forced myself to focus on one manuscript at a time. This led to typical frustrations with writer’s block, frustration that made it worse, or long stretches where my brain felt worn out and I couldn’t accomplish much anyway.

This afternoon I worked out some worldbuilding for the new dystopian story and started working on character ideas for the plot. I’m still in shock at how easily this is slotting itself together.

When I sensed I needed a break after dinner, I rotated to look at the original chapters of the horror novel. It needs work–but not as much as I feared. I had a BLAST rediscovering the characters and writing something very different from the SING THE BONES world.

I’m so glad I tried this. I feel delightfully accomplished today!
